I never considered bottle feeding an option as a new mother, the body goes through a lot of changes when pregnant and sadly that includes your breasts and nipples. Comfort becomes the number one priority simply because everything hurts. From the day I gave birth and first began breastfeeding my nipples were sore, swollen, cracked, and super painful; and rubbing against the inside of a cotton bra made them hurt worse.
The hospital sent me home with a little tester tube of Lansinoh HPA Lanolin Ointment and it quite literally was the only thing that kept me able to breastfeed my baby. This lanolin is made is all natural substances so it is safe for both mother and child which is very nice because moms already worry enough about all the things going into their children’s’ bodies.
This product is quite sticky and thick so I found that I did go through more breastfeeding pads when using it, just to keep the area around my nipples clean for the safety of me and my baby. On a good note though a tube of this stuff was very affordable and lasted me several months because a little bit goes a long way.
I am very glad to have been introduced to Lansinoh HPA Lanolin Ointment and will be using again when my next child is born.
