Pros: better than vaseline, cute jar, great for chapped and chaffed skin
Cons: medicinal smell
If you can get past the smell, bag balm can be a miracle cure for so many ailments. It definitely is not just intended for use for cows, or babies for that matter. You can use this thick ointment on rashes, itching, chaffed or chapped skin, for moisture, or anything! I use bag balm most frequently when I get chapped skin under my nose from using tissues in the spring when allergy season is in full swing. The smell is a bit pungent, and it is definitely noticeable. Some people might not be able to get over the smell, it is very medicinal. The use for cows is to prevent chapped udders and to prevent exposed skin from getting chapped in the elements, so what better product to use for chapped and chaffed skin on people! I use this also on the backs of my heels when I break in sneakers to prevent blisters too. It is kind of like a vaseline, but more protective and it doesn't get as warm and melty as vaseline. My mom used this on our diaper rashes when we were younger, and she still refers others to use it on rashes and itching on our skin. It is a really useful product! Plus, the formula and the can have not changed since I was little, and the jar is super cute!
To start, this is not solely classified as a baby product. It is widely used by all ages, and was originally intended for cows. I love a product that you can use in a million different ways. Kind of like a Cure-All in a little tin. Thats what Bag Balm is in our house. Read more
