I applied for an air miles card with British Airways a couple of years ago, when I started using the airline more for travelling across Europe. I don’t find some of the budget airlines very comfortable to fly with, so will always favour BA, so I figured it was worth earning some loyalty points as I did.
I decided to apply for an American Express British Airways credit card to boost my air mile earnings a bit. Although the card doesn’t offer any interest free periods, I decided to use it for purchases that I could pay off within the month, therefore avoiding the interest payments but still earning some extra air miles.
I applied for the card online and they gave me a decision via email. It only took a few days and once they had accepted me they sent the card and my pin number very quickly. I am really impressed with the online service as I can see my pin number there, but only after answering several security questions of course!
The only problem I have with it is that some shops in the UK don’t take it as I gather the fees are rather high. This does annoy me, but any online payments I make through paypal I can do on this card, and it’s also a great one for travelling abroad.
