I was quite pessimistic when I started to hear that the major supermarkets were now offering banking services. I didn’t like the idea of these huge conglomerate companies taking over more areas of business, but I found out that Tesco Bank offered some really competitive rates when it came to Cash ISAs.
Most people in this country aren’t fans of banks anyway, so in the end I figured it was actually the lesser of two evils to put my savings into a supermarket that now offered banking services.
I opted for a fixed term ISA which meant I got the same great rate for the period I was investing in, which really worked for me as it was during a time where the interest rates were all over the place. I managed to open the account online so it was really easy to arrange, and I got all the necessary paperwork through within a few days.
When it came to summarising my annual interest and keeping an eye on the money I found the service was rather handy, and whenever I spoke to someone on the phone they were very helpful and I was able to get through to them quickly.
