Cons: made us feel uncomfortable, not knowledgeable, slow, staff not very helpful

A while ago we were referred to Wells Fargo by a real estate agent at one of the houses we had been going through during an open house. She said that they did FHA Loans and gave a person to contact there. We were hoping to get an FHA loan, so we wouldn't have to come up with a large down payment. We worked with a girl there for at least 3 months, and all the while we were working with her, we thought everything was going smoothly. The process seemed to be moving right along even though it went very slow. Then all of a sudden she would say that she forgot to ask me for my student loan information, so now they couldn't do the loan at all. Then she told me, maybe if you had some collateral, like a vehicle you could you to have some down payment. So, she suggested for us to get a car loan there and then we would have some money down. Well, we met with the loan person, and then found out that we didn't have a high enough credit score for a car loan. So, then they suggested to try another financial institution, which we then did, and had no trouble getting the loan there. We then told her that we got the loan and had the money. So, we gave that to her and once again she came back with some other information she forgot to ask us for. Long story short, we didn't get the loan in the end, because she didn't have a clue what she should've been asking for and what she was doing really. And, she told out realtor that we didn't get the loan before she even told us about it. Overall, the experience that we had with Wells Fargo was just terrible and we can't be recommended to anyone who needs a bank to trust and to be there for them.

    I've been with Wellsfargo since 2009 when the buyout of Wachovia switched all their customers to Wellsfargo customers. To be fair, there are some options that I do appreciate with Wellsfargo. There are plenty of ATM options available all over the United States. Read more (1)
