Recently I was pretty bummed to discover my local discount drugstore doesn't carry my preferred brand of cocoa butter. Thankfully, cocoa butter has gained considerable popularity over the years so I did have a decent variety of cocoa butter alternatives to choose from, even if my personal favorite wasn't part of the mix.

Trust me. I looked.I looked hard.

I looked so hard I probably looked suspicious.

Finally, I gave in and settled for the smallest, cheapest, most generic brand of cocoa butter on the shelf – Beauty 360 Nourishing Cocoa Butter Lotion. This is the personal brand for CVS and Longs Pharmacy. At less than $2.00, I was okay with picking up the small container.

The aroma is fabulous, perhaps a bit stronger than my personal favorite, but I'm not complaining. The consistency is silky smooth, without being sticky or greasy – so far so good. Between the beautiful fragrance and the rich feeling formula I may have a new contender for an off-brand dupe for those desperate times when my favorite is not readily available. The small size of the container is a bit of a bummer though, I can see myself going through this pretty quick.
