I bought the Soap and Glory Manicure Gift Set, when it was reduced to half price and it contained the Hand Food cream, the Endless Glove Hand Mask, cotton gloves and a nail file. I wouldn’t have purchased it, if it had been full price, because I find that it is too expensive for what it is and in my humble opinion Soap and Glory is way overrated. I think their products mediocre and overpriced for what they are. Nevertheless, I needed a hand cream and since this was on sale I bought it for 50% off.

Well, what can I say about this hand cream? Let’s talk about the packaging first. It’s a fairly standard pink tube, so there is nothing to complain about, but the cream itself is definitely not something that I like. The consistency is quite light and it’s not moisturising enough for me in the colder seasons. It’s OK as a summer hand cream though. It sinks in quickly into your skin without leaving it sticky or greasy and if your skin is normal then I’m sure you’ll like it. My skin on the other hand tends to get dry easily so I need something more moisturising and I actually like the Endless Glove Hand Mask.

As far as the scent of the Soap and Glory Hand Food is concerned I absolutely hate it. I find the smell rancid and old fashioned. It’s something that my grandmother would like to use but not me. I prefer a fresh and uplifting scent and not something that smells of old roses. In general when it comes to skincare products I prefer unscented and un-fragranced products, because it means there are less skin-irritating ingredients.

I have had this tube for over a year now, I think and I don’t think I will finish it up, because I just don’t like the smell at all. At this point I can’t even give it away to my friends either, because I have used up two thirds of it already. I guess the one thing about Soap and Glory are their puns. It says at the back of their Hand cream to use it as often as you want to soften, which is kind of funny.

Overall, it’s not an awful product, but it’s just not something that I would purchase again nor would I recommend this hand cream to a friend. I think there are better and more affordable options out there, but if you are a Soap and Glory fan and you are dying to try out this hand cream, then you should maybe try out the little travel size versions of it that are available in the drugstores. Although I am not a big Soap and Glory fan, I can however recommend their Endless Glove Hand Mask. It’s a thicker hand cream that takes longer to skin into your skin, but it will leave your hands very soft and moisturised throughout the day and on top of that it doesn’t smell as bad as the Hand Food cream.
