I stopped using bar soaps quite a long time ago, and I don’t actually often see them in anyone’s bathrooms, as everyone seems to favour soap pumps, but I was given this Baylis and Harding French Lavender and Cassis Boxed Soap as part of a gift set, so I figured it was worth a try.
The soap comes in a really lovely box, which looks very luxurious and expensive, and the branding is much like a designer make, so it does feel like a very special item to have. The soap’s ingredients are what sparked my interest initially, as I love the smell of lavender and I am a huge fan of Cassis as a drink, so I thought it would be a marriage made in heaven!
I was definitely right there, the two fragrances compliment each other perfectly, and they create a sumptuous, indulgent smell that is just lovely. You can really smell this when you’re using the soap bar, whether you have it beside the sink in the bathroom or kitchen, or you use it across the whole body in the bath or shower. I have used it on my hands and on other areas of my body, and I don’t feel as though it dries my skin as much as a lot of bars soaps would.
