I was looking for a good moisturiser for my dry and sensitive skin. I was previously using the Aquapor Cream with SPF 15 by Eucerin, but I needed something more moisturising to use as part of my winter skincare routine. I need to change up my skincare products according to the seasons and winter is an especially difficult time, because my skin gets extremely dry and sensitive. The worst parts are my cheeks and under eye area. For some reason they just get really dry and the skin on my cheek bones starts cracking up and flaking, feeling really raw, painful and red.

I was trying out a lot of different products from drugstore to high-end creams like the original Crème de la Mer. Fortunately I didn’t pay the full price for the latter, but instead got a generous free sample by the lady working there. I had tried it and to be honest all the hype around it is in my opinion completely overrated. This product was just as effective as the Astral cream that you get in Superdrug for less than £1 whereas the La Mer product costs something around £100. Having tried out lots of products that didn’t work, I resorted to the internet and looked up reviews to find narrow down great moisturisers. I eventually went for the Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream, which I ended ordering on Amazon, because it wasn’t available in any stores here in the UK.

The tube cost me around £12. It is actually quite a thick cream that sinks into my skin very quickly. I quite like this cream. It has worked better than any other moisturizer that I have used so far and I am already on my second tube. I use this cream on my clean face as a day time moisturiser, although I wish it included SPF. I used to use the Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream for the night as well, but I have changed my routine and instead of this, I am now using the Paula’s Choice Skin Recovery Super Concentrate Antioxidant Serum and the Treatment Mask. I’m not sure if I will repurchase the Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream. I like it, but it’s not perfect. Sometimes I don’t find it moisturising enough and I want something that helps to not only hydrate my skin but also improve it, which I don’t find this product does. Maybe I’m just having unrealistic expectations, but I feel that I need to try out other products.

Overall, this is a really good moisturiser. If you have sensitive and dry skin then you should definitely try this product out. The reason why I am not giving this cream five stars is because it’s a very good product but it just doesn’t have the WOW factor for me.  I have sensitive, dry yet blemish prone skin with a lot of redness and hyperpigmentation going on and I want a product that can tackle all these skin problems and help improve them. Nevertheless if you are just suffering from dryness you should consider this product.
