Pros: inexpensive, moisturizes skin, rust-proof can
Cons: scary ingredients

I usually use a natural shaving product. However, last time I was placing an order was right after paying my insurance premium and had to choose a more budget-friendly option. This Pure Silk Sensitive Skin Therapy Shave Cream definitely exceeded my expectations.

Okay, first of all, I'm not thrilled about the ingredients. It has sodium lauryl sulfate, propane (seriously?), and a few other cringe-worthy ingredients. The thought of putting these things on my skin does not thrill me, but I'm trying to overlook them for now, since it was really cheap.

Now for the good…for it being so inexpensive I'm quite surprised at how well it works. It makes my skin incredibly soft, and even in delicate areas there are no razor bumps. This could have something to do with the fact that it contains papaya, thyme, aloe, and willow bark. So, among those scary ingredients, there are a few thoughtful, beneficial ones, as well.

A little goes a long way. Squeeze a nickel size into your hand, and it grows substantially. It lathers beautifully (because of the dreaded SLS in it), and it rinses from the razor effortlessly. I also really appreciate that it has a rust-proof can, so I'm not left with an unsightly ring on the edge of the tub.

I love this shaving cream. I haven't used any other brand in over a year. The price of the shaving cream is a huge selling point. It is really affordable. It's $2.14 on Amazon.com . In stores, the most I have ever paid for it is $3.00. I like when I get my money's worth. Read more
