I am pretty much obsessed with my iPerfect Kitchen Envy Spiral slicer. Now I can eat a huge bowl of "pasta" without feeling like I need to run an extra 10 miles in the morning just to burn all the calories.
The slicer has a blade on both ends. One makes skinnier noodles. You put your vegetable in one end and just twist. It turns it into long noodles, and the core of the vegetable slides through the opening in the center. It's effortless and probably the coolest little gadget I have in the kitchen.
I usually do zucchini because zucchini tends to taste like whatever it is seasoned with (sort of like tofu). You can leave the noodles raw or drop them in boiling water for a couple minutes. I like throwing them in a hot pan with some coconut oil for a minute or so. I've also used it with carrots and cucumbers. I haven't tried squash or potatoes yet.
The spiralizer also comes with a carrying case, as well as a handy little brush to clean the blades. What could possibly be better than eating pasta every day without any of the guilt? Where has this thing been my entire life? If you've been thinking about getting one, don't hesitate to do so.
