KitchenAid is a well-respected brand when it comes to kitchen small appliances, but they also have a terrific line of cookware. One of our favorite pieces is their 10-inch non-stick frying pan with glass lid. This pan sees probably more use than any other in our vast arsenal of cookware. It's ideal for sauteing a large batch of mushrooms, grilled onions, or peppers. We use it almost every day for something or the other. Even frying bacon and sausage at fairly high heat doesn't seem to faze the non-stick surface of the pan.
While the maker states it is dishwasher safe, we always hand wash the pan. An occasional steel wool scrubbing of the bottom of the pan is needed, but not often. The cushioned, silicone handle stays cool and is ergonomically ideal. No wrist strain here!
KitchenAid uses three layers of non-stick coating on this 10-inch frying pan. The core of the pan is aluminum, with stainless cladding on the bottom. The aluminum core makes heat distribute evenly throughout the pan, so you don't need to constantly be turning the pan to assure even cooking. The price is a bit steep as opposed to some other brands, but the quality and durability warrant spending a bit more in my book.
