Pros: easy to use, filters 13 contaminents, great tasting water

I am not sure what took me so long to finally order a water filter pitcher, but I am certainly glad I did. Originally, I was sold on a different product line. However, after reading reviews I decided to go with PUR. I do have a water softener, but I am still always concerned about what contaminants might be lurking in the water. I like that this product reduces 13 contaminants including chlorine, mercury, and pharmaceuticals. I do really wish that it removed fluoride, but then it certainly would not be this affordable either.

This water filter pitcher holds only 5 cups of water, so it is quite small. It is not the pitcher's fault though. I knew the size when I ordered it, and should have got a bigger one. I will likely buy a second one here shortly. You just fill the top part with cold water and it flows through the filter to the bottom half of the pitcher.

The filter is good for about 40 gallons of water, which is one to three months depending on the water hardness. It would be nice if there was some sort of indicator to let you know when it is time to change the filter. If you are looking for a water filter pitcher I definitely recommend this one by PUR.
