I am a huge flavored coffee lover. I am also a big fan of coconut. So, when I saw the Folgers Gourmet Selections Coconut Cream Pie coffee on the store shelf, my mouth started watering and I couldn't resist the urge to buy it. I rushed home and, although it was past the time I normally stop drinking coffee for the day, I brewed a pot of what I thought would be mouthwatering and delicious java.
Folgers Gourmet Selections Coconut Cream Pie Coffee
The moment I opened the bag the aroma was overpowering. The smell of coconut mixed with coffee bean was undeniable, and I just knew that this would possibly be the best cup of coffee I had ever tasted. I waited anxiously for the coffee to finish brewing, poured a cup, added a bit of sugar, and prepared myself. To say I was disappointed would be an understatement of epic proportions.
While the aroma of the bag of coffee gave of a very strong smell of coconut, it simply wasn't evident in the taste of the brewed java. To me, it tasted just like regular coffee. And at the price I paid, I might as well have just bought a much larger container of regular coffee. Was the coffee bad? Not at all. But it definitely wasn't coconut cream pie flavored. My suggestion? Save your money for something better.
