Pros: long lasting, nice taste

I loved Jolly Ranchers as a kid. I still enjoy them now as an adult. I think Jolly Ranchers are one of those easy to forget candies that when you pick back up years later you wonder why you ever stopped consuming them. They look like little pieces of glass and are so delicious. I have diabetes, so I carry one or two in my purse as an easy way to up my sugar in an emergency. It's basically just sugar and flavoring. Which is why I am baffled why the off brand versions are so badly. Other brands are chewy when they should hard and the flavor tastes odd. Maybe I am spoiled, but I will be sticking to Jolly Ranchers. One of these little candies takes long enough to eat that I know I can munch on one if I am hungry and dinner is a couple hours away.

One of the few things I don't like about Jolly Ranchers is that they can melt if they are hot for too long. Then, when they reform, they have a kind of waxy residue. Not really a pleasant feature. Jolly Ranchers are sure to please generations to come with their burst of sweetness and flavor.

I love the taste and flavor of Jolly Ranchers, but they always stick to my teeth! I remember a kid that I went to elementary school with lost one of his teeth when he bit down into a Jolly Rancher and his teeth got stuck. Granted, he had a loose tooth to begin with and that's the tooth he ended up losing, but that memory lingered with me long after the event.

As much as I love Jolly Ranchers, I can't ever seem to enjoy them without a little anxiety. Which is a shame, because they're so danged yummy!

I quit smoking a few months ago and needed to find a way to pass those times when I really needed one. Believe it or not, these Jolly Rancher candies worked better for me than everything else that I tired. Read more
