One advantage of the Kind Fruit and Nut bars is that their protein comes from nuts and not a protein powder. Another advantage is that the amount of chocolate is limited. I do love chocolate but too much gives me a stomach ache so with a high protein bar that has a lot of chocolate, I can't finish it so I still don't get the protein.
Another advantage is that what you see is what you get: the number one ingredient, the ingredient used most is nuts. The number one sweetener is honey. Honey is the third ingredient followed by Non-GMO glucose, then glucose. GMO is genetically modified organisms so the bar is made of natural ingredients. It is not listed as organic, but would probably qualify. It is gluten-free, low glycemic, low sodium and no sugar alcohols. The reason it is high in fat is the chocolate (which only covers the bottom of the bar) and the nuts which are high in fat.
I like these bars. They're not my favorite, but I buy them because of the above-listed reasons. I like nuts and the bars taste good. One bar does fill me up and only six grams of protein is not very much for getting filled up.
There are a wide variety of flavors. The makers of these bars have really put a lot of effort into providing something for everybody.
A sad note: there is a warning that these bars contain peanuts and tree nuts. I know people have allergies, but if you read the ingredients, you should know there are peanuts and tree nuts. It is a sign of our litigious times.
