Lea & Perrins has been a staple brand in my home for many years. My interest in the Worcestershire sauce began when I was a teenager and I was helping my mom prepare meatloaf. Since meatloaf tends to lack in flavor, I find it important to add a sauce or marinade to give it a flavor punch. This Worcestershire sauce offers a rich taste with a tangy bite when it's needed.
I also like to use this Lea & Perrins Worcestershire sauce for marinating cheaper cuts of steak. Because it is so packed with flavor, it doesn't take very long to permeate the meat. I also like to add a splash of the flavorful sauce to my hamburgers and occasionally to other types of protein, like pork. I've also heard of people who like to use it as a condiment on toast with cheese, which I think would be delicious.
The only downside with the Lea & Perrins original Worcestershire sauce is that it does contain a considerable amount of sodium, so for those who are trying to avoid a diet high in sodium it can be slightly problematic. Thankfully, Lea & Perrins has developed a sauce with 30% less sodium for those who are cutting back.
