McCormick Celery Seed is economical and a necessary spice for our family’s seasonings. There are a lot of benefits to using celery seed in routine cooking. I like the medicinal benefits of using this spice on a regular basis. It helps my body in a variety of ways including eliminating water retention as well as decreasing inflammation.
I use McCormick Celery Seed when I make homemade chicken noodle soups, beef stews, as well as adding it to a variety of salads. One of my favorite salads to add celery seed to is macaroni salads, or bacon ranch pasta salad. Adding this spice will provide some additional flavor to the family recipe.
The seeds can be used in whole form for cooking, or they can also be crushed. My personal choice is to use them as they come in the spice container. Placing them whole into salad recipes adds more to the texture of the salad itself.
During the summer time, homemade slaw is a family favorite. To provide a different twist on the recipe, I will add some celery seed as the very last step followed by stirring well. When eating the celery seed in salad recipes, there is a nice crunch and flavor burst in the mouth! It is definitely a family favorite!
