I fully realize that pasta sauce in a jar does not hold a candle to home made. However, sometimes I am pressed for time and use pre-packaged sauce in a pinch. This brand, Mids, was on sale at my local grocery store so I grabbed a jar to give it a try. While my husband said it was pretty good, I was not pleased. I bought the Italian sausage flavor and the sauce was extremely thick and entirely too sweet for my taste. I even browned some of my own Italian sausage to add to the sauce, attempting to kick up the flavor a bit, but it did not help all that much. My husband, however, liked the texture stating that it clung to the spaghetti noodles better than a thinner sauce. If I do purchase this sauce again, I think I will add a can of undrained diced tomatoes or a bit of tomato sauce to make it less thick. As for the sweetness, it may just be a personal preference as my husband did not seem to mind the flavor in the least. The only reason I would not recommend this to anyone is for the simple reason that in my opinion other brands of spaghetti sauce have a much better flavor and texture.
