Ruffles potato chips are known for their ridges that makes them just a little bit more firm and able to dip up dip a little better than other chips. I am ok with ridges being on their flavored potato chips but am not sure why the Ruffles Ultimate Loaded Bacon and Cheddar Cheese Potato Skin chips have to have such wide ridges. You probably aren't going to scoop up dip in them because the flavoring is already in the chip.
The chips do taste very cheesy and have a light smoked bacon flavor. Also on the chips are green onions, which give the chips a little more flavor. The texture of the chip is what I don't like so much. Because of the larger ridges, they are almost like crackers; not chips. I like a nice light chip that crunches easily when I chew it, not one I actually have to work at and hope I don't impale my gums with an uneven edge.
One ounce of the chips is 160 calories and 90 are from fat. The chips have 170 milligrams of sodium and 15 grams of carbohydrates. There is also 1 gram of sugar in the serving size. The chips do cost a little more than regular chips and there is only 7.5 ounces per bag. When a serving is 1 ounce, you can see it isn't much for all those calories and milligrams of sodium. I really think I would be better off making my own skins with cheddar, bacon and green onion in the oven. They would certainly taste better.
