I have been making small changes in my life as I become more vegetarian and consume less animal products. Switching to almond milk is my latest challenge to myself as I make this lifestyle change. It has been a bit more challenging than I thought it would be.
Lets start with this: Almond milk does not taste like cow's milk. Do not expect it to and you will be less disappointed than I was. I thought it would be best to start out by putting a whole glassful of this stuff into my smoothie. Big mistake. That was not as delicious as I hoped.. in fact it was kind of a disaster. I gave it to my kids who all promptly said, "No, thank you" and poured out their smoothies. I tried again in a very small glass. The flavor is smooth, but it is definitely one of those things that you end up liking after drinking it by the gallon for months. Ok, that may just be me. It does taste very chocolately and is pleasant once you get past the "Surprise! It doesn't taste like milk!" moment.
