Every year, during the fall months, I begin hearing people talking about the Starbucks Pumpkin Spice coffee. Although I am usually a pretty big fan of the Starbucks brand, I had yet to actually try the seasonal offering. Until, that is, I found a package of ready brew packs at my local grocery store, and at a pretty decent price, at least in terms of Starbucks coffee. Thinking it was too good to be true, I picked up a package, brought it home, and set about making what, according to hype and rumor, should have been the best cup of coffee ever.
Starbucks Via Ready Brew Pumpkin Spice Coffee
Unfortunately, hype is all it was. While the Starbucks Via Ready Brew Pumpkin Spice Coffee wasn't absolutely horrible, it just did not measure up to Starbucks standards, in my opinion. The flavor was bitter and strong, and the pumpkin spice was just a tad overbearing. To me, it tasted more like some sort of artificial "wanna be" coffee, rather than something that was supposed to be quite popular.
I only managed to take a few sips of this coffee before dumping the rest out and never making it again. The package still sits in the kitchen cabinet. Maybe one day I'll find a use for bitter, bad tasting coffee.
