I'm not big on making my own coffee. Unlike what seems to be the vast majority of the rest of the world, I do not own a Keurig or similar coffee maker appliance. In fact, I have never made my own coffee and was never a coffee drinker at all until this past year. I do, however, like to pick up pre-made coffee products on occasion. The problem with many of my favorite pre-made coffee drinks is that they are laden in heavy syrups, which means they tend to contain a lot of calories and a lot of sugar. I was pretty excited when I found out that Starbucks sold their bottled frappuccinos in a light version that had half the calories and 10% less sugar than their regular frapuccinos, and I had to pick up a case and try them out.
Overall, I would say that the coffee does taste a lot more watered down than regular coffee, and it's by no means my favorite. However, I will still continue to buy this product because it still has a nice taste to it -- it's just not nearly as strong as the non-light version. Considering this drink has half the calories, I think it's worth sacrificing some flavor. I would recommend picking up Starbucks light frappuccinos if you are looking for ways to cut calories or sugar out of your diet.
