Originally I am from Philippines but I live Ireland now. Pasta, particularly spaghetti is very popular in my home place and when Filipinos say spaghetti, it means spaghetti Bolognese. I normally use ground beef or ground pork in preparing the sauce. All I need is to sauté garlic and onions add the meat. I prefer to add evaporated milk and sugar to sweeten the sauce.
In the recent years, ready-made sweet spaghetti sauce becomes available and one of the brands I like very much is "UFC". They are right to call it as Filipino style because it is a bit sweeter than the regular pasta bolognese sauce. Having this ready-made sauce means that I don't need the tomato sauce, sugar and milk for my spaghetti. It makes the cooking process handier and quicker. It also gives that real taste of Filipino style spaghetti taste. I normally use one pack of the 250 gram packet of sauce for every 500 grams of spaghetti.
When I cook pasta here in Ireland, I always make it my own way that is with the use of this ready-made pasta sauce. It reminds me of home and sometimes even helps me battle homesickness. I can buy this online or instore in many of the Asian markets.
