If there's one thing I love (almost more than nail polish) it's Ginger Beer. In fact, this is my second ginger beer review for this site. If I had the time, equipment, and the army of willing test subjects, I would totally make my own ginger beer at home. Although I have plenty of ginger root, and yeast, at the busy bed and breakfast in Hawaii where I work, I lack the hours and empty bottles.
Then there's the fact that I have discovered a ginger beer that I'm completely nutso over. Enter: Bundaberg Ginger Beer. I first found this delicious, spicy ginger beer at a little mom and pop store in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. Then I saw that lots of stores on the Big Island where carrying this Australian import. A little further digging and I easily found it on Amazon, at a reasonable price.
$3.00 per bottle seems to be the going rate here on the Big Island, but I think that's perfectly reasonable given the inflation on pretty much every product anyone could ever wish to purchase if they want to live in paradise. Living the dream comes with its investments, after all.
Although I haven't tried Bundaberg Ginger Beer in any mixed drinks, I think it would go right at home in a classic Dark and Stormy, or a Moscow Mule. Ooooh, it might just be perfect as a glaze over some chicken!
