I work for a popular souvenir shop in Kailua Kona, Hawaii. The store sits right on the start/finish line of the world famous Ironman World Championship competition and, as manager of the shop, I get to see a lot of interesting people and inventory come through the door.
Enter this little baby, right here. I honestly had no idea what to expect when I stocked non-alcoholic sake on our cooler shelves, so I had to try one for myself. Mostly I had no idea what to expect because I simply couldn't read the label. It's in Japanese, after all, so I had to trust the boss when he said "It's alcohol-free plum flavored sake, try it!"
Try it. I did.
Love it. I did.
It tastes great ice cold, and is even palatable when it reaches room temperature. The flavor is light and refreshing, and even though amazon says it's "sour flavor" I tend to disagree, because I found the flavor to be somewhat sweet.
If you happen to come across this in your grocer's cooler, I definitely suggest you try it for yourself. Now that we've started stocking it in our fridge at work I'm starting to see it in other local convenient stores around the Big Island of Hawaii.
