Admittedly, I'm not much of an iced-tea drinker. I can never really be satisfied because it's either too sweet, or not sweet enough. When it comes to the sweetness of Hawaiian Sun Tropical Iced Tea, this stuff is positively sticky. I'm pretty positive it left some sort of sugary coating on my tongue for a good while after finishing off the can. Not that I'm complaining, since I obviously finished the can and lived to tell about it.
Honestly, the flavor is not entirely unpleasant. It's got a mild taste of a basic black tea (think Lipton) but it's sweetened with the tropical flavors of pineapple and passion fruit. I think it's these tropical hints that make this beverage palatable.
I would try this again in the future, but only if it's ridiculously hot out, there's nothing else to drink, and I desperately need to wash down an especially dry sandwich and salty potato chips. I can't really see myself being that desperate, but anything is possible. I do live in Hawaii after all, and hot days at the beach happen frequently.
Although this is mostly found on the Hawaiian islands, you can easily find this at an affordable price on Amazon.
