I had Ithica Soda Company Root Beer at a cafe in Brooklyn. It is a nice color, what you'd expect from Root Beer. Unlike many of the commercial brands out there, Ithaca was not harsh on carbonation, which honestly, took a bit of getting used to. But it suited my meal just fine.
The flavor was overall sweet, but not overpowering. There was a nice combination of flavors, such as caramel being the dominant one but other flavors, such as vanilla coming in for second.
The color of the bottle labeling was interesting and different too.
Since it is gourmet, it was a little pricey. But you get what you pay for after all.
