In the middle of all the beers in the aisle the other night, this one stood out because of its bright, green label. Knowing it was a Christmas beer, I picked it up and saw that it was named for Krampus. Not sure if this is their first year, but since the Krampus horror movie came out this year, I thought it was cool, so I bought it.
It was $6.99, which was typical for a seasonal craft beer, and what I'd expect to pay in a bar, so I could not complain too much.
This beer has ranked at the top of my favorite winter beers. It tastes like an English bitter, with full body flavor. Although it is hoppy, it only leaves a slight aftertaste, not overpowering. It is dark brown in appearance with a sweet, malty smell to it. Reminds me of Christmas!
