Pros: convenient and lightweight, fits in a purse, lots of apps to choose from, lots of books available, unlimited cloud storage
Cons: need wifi for internet

Light, easy to use, and long-lasting battery. I normally do not recommend products that do not merit it, but the Kindle Fire sure does. When I first thought about getting one, I did not think I was going to use it so much. Sure, I thought I would use it to read every once in a while, but oh no. I surf the web easily, while listening to music. I watch Netflix and Hulu, and find that streaming is very fast on the Kindle. Faster than on my smart phone, anyway.

The Kindle Fire is light, compared to other tablets. It has great storage (for my needs), and I can find books easily. I can arrange them in alphabetical order, or by the newest I downloaded. I think a “Completed books” folder would be nice though, because I like clearing out my space for new books. I could always delete them, but I like seeing how many books I have completed so far. Weird, I know. Aside from this, I cannot find a lot of things I would change with this tablet.

I find that reading on this tablet is very easy. It gives you a few options on what background you would like. Sepia, black with white letters, or white background. You can easily change the font size, because sometimes you just feel tired and want big letters to make it easier for you. You can also put a little bookmark on it, highlight anything, and save those quotes. I found this particularly helpful when reading school textbooks. Yes, I said textbooks. Amazon now has an option where you can purchase or rent textbooks. So instead of carrying them everywhere, you can carry them on your Kindle. Makes it very convenient if you ask me. There is also a flashlight app that is fantastic, it is really potent.

I also like that I can take my Kindle anywhere. I travel a lot, and like to read before going to bed, so instead of making my suitcase heavier than it needs to be, I just take my Kindle and the charger, and I am all set. The only bad thing I can think of, is that it needs to be connected to WiFi in order to go online and for most of the apps you download. You do not need it for your books that have been downloaded already, so it really is not that bad. You do not need WiFi for the music either, so you can read to a soundtrack even if you are not connected to the internet.

Overall, I highly recommend this product. I know other Kindle tablets have come out, and I have not had the opportunity to play with them yet. If they are anything like the Fire, then I would probably recommend them as well. I like the wide variety of books and apps that are offered, so you will never be bored. Whether you are looking for books, games or educational apps, the Kindle has you covered.
