Pros: lightweight
Cons: not durable

I try to avoid going into home improvement stores simply because I am a little obsessed with them. Going in for one thing means a carload full of items and a maxed credit card. So, I try to order as much as I can online and reserve those trips into town for when I can really afford to splurge.

I was actually surprised to find I could order a rake online. I needed to start yard cleanup but I was trying to avoid a trip to the store. So, I ordered this one by Ames. There were a lot of different ones I could order, but I chose Ames because it is made in America and has a 15-year warranty.

Well, after about six hours of raking old leaves and small twigs the rake broke. I am pretty strong for how small I am, but I am certainly not this strong! I was never rough with it. I was thinking maybe I just got a faulty one, but now that I look online at recent reviews, I see others have had the same problem. This is a shame because it is lightweight and easy to use. I have heard such good things about this brand, too, but sadly this product fell short.
