I have head of dry shampoo, but I have never used dry shampoo before. The reason why never crossed my mind to buy it was, because I found it more hygienic and satisfying to properly shampoo my hair in the shower, rather than putting products in my hair. I felt that it would just weigh my hair down and leave it unwashed and disgusting. I like it when my hair is freshly washed and it has that light feel to it and the fresh smell of shampoo and conditioner.

I first got the Batiste Dry Shampoo as a PR sample. They just introduced their products in Boots and other drugstores and they were trying to get people to try their product by handing out travel sized dry shampoo  spray cans. I got their original Blush Dry shampoo that has a flirty floral scent to it. To be honest I didn’t think I would ever just it, simply because I didn’t like the idea of masking dirty hair with some spray and I didn’t think it would work.

To my surprise however, I am extremely pleased with the results. Normally I wash my hair every other day, but I remember that one time where my hair felt really greasy and oily on the second day and I decided to give the dry shampoo a go. I have dark brown hair and the dry shampoo is actually a while powder. It left my roots looking like I was starting to have grey hair, so I needed to massage the product into my hair until the white powder disappeared. Once that was done my hair felt light and almost freshly washed again. I would still say that I prefer freshly washed hair over using dry shampoo, but now I have started to wash my hair on day 3, rather than every second day, which has helped my hair to look and feel healthier.

To apply this product, you have to shake the bottle really well and hold it 30cm away from your head. Make sure to part you hair and aim at the roots, where it’s most greasy. After you spray the product on your hair, you then massage it into the head so that it can soak up all the oil.

All in all, this is a great product and I have repurchased it many times since. It is relatively affordable and you can get quite a few uses out of it. Since the Batiste Dry Shampoo came out a lot of other brands have tried to catch up with it by bringing out their own dry shampoo, but from the reviews that I have read so far, the Batiste Dry Shampoo seems to be still one of the best ones out there. There are also Batiste Dry Shampoos that have a hint of colour added to them and I have tried out the one for dark brown hair. In my opinion the colour dry shampoos are not as good as the original one and I also find that after working the product into my hair my fingernails are all dirty and disgusting from the colour. My favourite Batiste Dry Shampoo is still Blush and I can highly recommend it to anyone.

Having had long hair for most of my life, I find washing and blow drying it several times a week is very time consuming, but I dont have a lot of other options when it comes to keeping it looking clean and feeling fresh. Read more
