Pros: leaves hair feeling soft, small amount goes a long way, weightless and thin
Cons: a bit expensive, can be greasy at roots

I have been using Biosilk Silk Therapy for about seven years now.  I used to work for a hair salon and they used Biosilk Silk Therapy as a finishing polish, so that is how I first found out about its existence.  Biosilk Silk Therapy is a clear silky serum that doesn’t weigh your hair down.  It feels like silk when you rub it against your fingers, and it doesn’t leave a sticky feel to it, unlike other competitor brands do.  Biosilk Silk Therapy is a leave in serum that will hydrate, smooth, and protect your hair.  Farouk Systems, Inc. based in Houston, TX, is the maker and manufacturer of this excellent hair product. They are also known for their popular and high end CHI products.

The positive things about Biosilk Silk Therapy are that it is a weightless serum; it doesn’t drag your hair down, but makes it feel airy and bouncy.  It also adds a lot of shine to your hair and makes it appear healthier; you hair will radiate and glow like a diamond.  A small amount of Biosilk Silk Therapy goes a long way.  For short hair, all you need is a penny size amount; medium hair needs a nickel size amount; and long hair needs a quarter size amount.  This silky serum can be used on curly or straight hair.  My natural hair is curly, so I use it in combination with other hair products to keep my curls intact.  I first apply mousse to my damp hair, and then I scrunch it all over.  Next, I apply Biosilk Silk Therapy to help tame down the frizz.  I use a diffuser attachment to blow dry my hair, and then I finish it off with hairspray.  On the other hand, my routine to get shiny straight hair is to first apply a heat protection spray all over my dry hair, and then I use a flat iron to get stick straight hair.  I distribute Biosilk Silk Therapy evenly throughout my straight hair in order to tame flyaways and get a polished look.  However, I avoid the root area, because it can make it look greasy, since it has so much shine to it.  One last thing that I like about Biosilk Silk Therapy is that is smells great!  It has a mild scent that smells fresh and feminine.

The only negative thing about Biosilk Silk Therapy is that it is a little expensive.  A 5.64 fl oz bottle can cost anywhere from $13 - $25 US Dollars, depending on where you buy it at.  Biosilk Silk Therapy can be found in many stores and also online.

This is what a 5.64 fl oz Biosilk Silk Therapy bottle looks like.

I rubbed my hands together and applied the Biosilk Silk Therapy to my hair, avoiding the root area.  The finished look is silky and shiny hair!

I bought this Biosilk after a suggestion from my sister.  We both have long, course, thick Italian hair.  We both use heating elements to control and style, and she knew I was in the market for something other than a serum that would control my frizz when I chose to air-dry my hair and let it dry… Read more
