My sisters and I are huge fans of Revlon Color silk hair dyes. I have been coloring my hair since 2010 and this is the only product I have used so far because it doesn't damage my hair as much. I was scared to change the color of my hair for the first time so I said why not try on a cheaper hair color first. Revlon was sold at the grocery stores for $2.99 and I couldn't resist the deal. Since I have a thick long black hair, a friend of mine who has been doing this for a long time recommended me to buy 2 boxes of the same color, #50 Light Ash Brown. After dyeing, conditioning, and blow drying it I didn't really see the difference except for when I'm under the sun. I realized this because I have a deep black hair color. But once it settled in for about 4 days, the color started to pop and I really want to re-apply another color, as soon as I can, to get the color that I really wanted.

But before I had to re-apply another 2 boxes, I had to wait for a month to do it so it wouldn't damage my hair. And it was worth waiting for it! The colors have seeped in and they are very very luscious and vibrantly toned down. I didn't see any brassiness for a couple of months.
This is what my hair looks like after re-applying another 2 boxes 2 months after my first try.
Many have been asking what shade my hair color was because it matches my skin tone really well. By the way, I have a light medium complexion with yellow under tone. Brown looks great on my skin and not by brown I didn't mean brassy brown. It is more of a nicely toned down mixture of 70% brown and 20% blonde. I really love it!
Since I've been using Revlon Color silk for 3 years now, it didn't damage or ruin my hair because I believe I followed the instructions really well. The box includes a bottle of neutralizer, the hair dye, and the conditioner.
The conditioner had done a great job in keeping my hair as silky as possible and I wish they sell it somewhere so I could buy more. Because right after coloring my hair, I knew it is going to be coarse and damaged. But the conditioner managed to bring it back to my original hair texture. And it feels even softer.
I am really happy about this hair color. It saved me tons of money from going to the salon. And the color works at its finest. I definitely recommend this to everyone who doesn't want to spend a lot on hair color.
