When I first began my career as an Independent Contractor, I started out doing some audio transcription work. While the work was usually pretty enjoyable, it became quite cumbersome when I constantly had to keep moving the mouse and clicking a rewind button to listen again to what was being said, so that it could be properly transcribed. I did a little bit of research, and discovered that I needed a foot pedal. And since the Infinity pedal came highly recommended, I purchased one. I was, and continue to be, very impressed with this device.
Infinity IN-USB2 pedal
Unlike many USB devices, the Infinity IN-USB2 foot pedal did not need any extra software drivers. It just worked right out of the box with my favorite audio transcription software. The pedal actually has three separate pedals, two slightly raised pedals for fast forward and rewind functions, and a large center pedal that functions as a play and pause button. I was simply amazed at how much easier it was.
Now that I no longer do much transcription, I have repurposed the pedal. It now sits under my desk, connected to a laptop, which is in turn connected to a television. With the help of a little piece of software, I can control my favorite video player by tapping the pedal with my foot. This is a great addition to my office.
