A few months ago I spilled some water onto my laptop keyboard. I frantically reacted too quickly and took a blow dryer to the unit. I was lucky that I didn't short out my system but not lucky enough. I melted the keys on the keypad and several of them stopped functioning. I was so upset. The laptop was fairly new and now the keypad looked like a wave of melted plastic. I was able to plug my desktop keyboard in and use that but it was very awkward shifting back and forth between the units for the touchpad.
I went looking for a keyboard that was designed for a laptop and I found this Logitech wireless with a touchpad. I do a lot of accounting and spreadsheet work so finding one with a number pad would have been ideal but I settled for this one. I am very happy with it. I like the fact that it is compact
Much Lighter Than a Laptop in Your Lap
and not quite as wide as my laptop so it can travel with me in my laptop case. I also love that it is wireless. I can put my laptop on the coffee table and keep the keyboard in my lap, which is a whole lot more convenient than having the actual laptop on my lap. In a crazy kind of way, I am actually a lot happier using this than I was with the laptop keyboard.
The only negative thing I can think of about this keyboard is that it doesn't have a number pad and it was a little pricey for my taste. The unit runs on two AA size batteries and I haven't had to change them once in about 6 months that I have owned the unit. I am very happy with the purchase.
