Pros: added safety feature for infants, multi-purpose, soft, gentle cleaning
Cons: somewhat expensive

My husband and I love the Johnson & Johnson safety swabs! Originally we purchased these to clean the ears of our first son after bath time, which they worked perfectly for. Then, we discovered that we could use them instead of the aspirator to help gently clean the inside of his nose when it was stuffy or runny. More recently we have been using them to apply ointment to a serious cut that he received, and they work perfectly. There has never been any accidental pokes or mistakes made with these swabs because of their safety feature, making them perfect for my newborn and my now three year old, who is learning to clean his ears on his own.

These swabs are similar to traditional q-tips that an adult would use to clean their ears, however they have an additional smaller bulb at the tip to clean, and the larger bulb prevents them from damaging the ears of little ones. Not to mention the fact that they are super soft!

While some places sell these swabs for a rather high price (by my standards at least), every so often you will find them on sale from certain retailers. We stock up anytime we find a sale because these are lifesavers and serve so many different functions for our children. No parent should go without them!
