CariFree is a unique and relatively new company that offers a line of oral healthcare products designed to provide advanced protection against dental cavities and gum diseases. Their products are each named based on the number of protective measures they offer against oral health complications. Thus, this particular rinse is named their CTx4 Treatment Rinse because it contains four means of protection: pH neutralization, fluoride, xylitol, and antibacterial properties. I bought this rinse because it seemed like an easy way to take optimal care of my dental health without having to use numerous products designed for different purposes.
The rinse comes in two separate bottles labeled Rinse A and Rinse B.
Rinse A is the component that contains the xylitol and the flavor, either mint or apple, and Rinse B contains the Sodium Hydroxide and Sodium Hypochlorite that help to get rid of harmful bacteria. It is important that you follow the directions and mix the two components together so that you are not missing out on any of the protective measures this product has to offer. Plus, Rinse B tastes pretty gross without Rinse A; I tried it! The rinse does not contain any alcohol, which is a plus for anyone who has issues with alcohol-containing rinses burning the inside of their mouths.
The bottles are pretty small at 4 fl. oz. each and do not last very long. The rinse is also rather pricey, which is why I won't be purchasing it again in the near future. If you are looking for a single product that will provide you with full oral health protection and don't mind spending a pretty penny, CariFree CTx4 is a great option that I highly recommend. If your funds are limited, however, there are cheaper ways of getting the same protection such as by combining a fluoride rinse and an alcohol-containing rinse and regularly sucking on xylitol mints.
