Usually, I'm not one to have sensitive teeth but occasionally I'll have a couple that will bother me when drinking something that is hot or cold. I had a recent flare up with my sensitive teeth, so I decided to try Crest's Pro-Health Sensitive + Enamel Shield Smooth Mint Toothpaste. I had a coupon for one of the Pro-Health products, so I figured I'd go ahead and give it a whirl.
Keep the tip of the toothpaste tube clean. If you get a lot of buildup around the tip, the lid will not snap closed.
The first thing I noticed about the toothpaste was its thickness. It is much thicker than many other toothpastes I've used. I went on to brush, and found this toothpaste to have a very mild, minty flavor. Some toothpastes have such a strong menthol flavor, it makes your eyes water, but this toothpaste is not like that at all. I could feel the paste cleaning my teeth as I brushed, but not in a harsh manner.
After using this toothpaste for a few days, the sensitivity of my teeth decreased when drinking liquids that were at extreme ranges of the temperature scale. I was very happy with this product, and found I could alternate it with my usual toothpaste and still not have any trouble with sensitivity.
The only downside to this toothpaste is its thickness. Normally, I wouldn't even bother to bring this up as a potential issue, but I use an electric toothbrush and found it seemed to be buzzing a little louder and working a bit harder to move this toothpaste around on my teeth compared to other pastes. The longer I brushed, the more the paste broke down and the easier it was on my toothbrush, so overall, it wasn't a huge deal.
I recommend this toothpaste if you are looking for something that isn't pricey and will help combat the sensitivity of your teeth.
