Elmer's glue is our go to brand when it comes to school supplies and crafting at home. I try not to run out, but once in a blue moon I do. One time my daughter had a craft project due for school and it was crunch time. As luck would have it, there was no Elmer's glue to be found in the house. Digging through some of my craft and sewing supplies, I found a bottle of Aleene's Tacky Glue. I was desperate, so decided to give it a try expecting the worst and hoping for the best. I was pleasantly surprised! This glue worked just as well as Elmer's. It is a little thicker than Elmer's but dries clear. Her project involved popsicle sticks, cardboard, yarn, and construction paper. This tacky glue held everything securely. It bonded almost instantly with most of the materials. We did, however, have to hold the popsicle sticks together for a little longer than we would have with Elmer's glue. That said, I was very pleased with the results. I know the bottle states it can be used on other materials such as cloth and ceramic, but I have yet to try it on those. That said, this is definitely a product that I will keep handy for those "just in case" moments we all experience.
