I’m a big fan of Michael Crichton books. They’re always exciting and interesting, with some kind of technology or scientific advancement and a big adventure / mystery. Sometimes I feel like Crichton can get a little heavy with detailed scientific explanations, but this book isn’t too bad. The technical explanations are mixed in well with the story.
The book is about a plane crash and the investigation that follows to try to figure out what happened. The main character is part of the Incident Review Team at the aircraft company, and goes through the whole process of looking at what could have gone wrong and caused the plane crash - parts, weather, pilot error, etc. The book talks a lot about airplanes, parts, and regulations, but it’s not boring at all. It’s written in a way that makes it really interesting, and I felt like I ended up learning a lot from it! Then the mystery of the crash is exciting too - it’s hard to put down. I won’t give away anything, but the ending is not what you would expect! You’ll have to read it to find out. I would definitely recommend this book!
