Pros: cheap, easy to find, easy to work with, many colors, versatile material

There’s something about a good yarn that makes any homemade project worthwhile. I personally use several different brands and types of yarn when I make my crochet projects. One of the brands I tend to use most often is the Red Heart in the Super Saver type.

The nice thing about the Super Saver yarns is that they are less costly than other brands and even other types of yarn. But just because they are cheaper does not make them any less when it comes to quality. I like that this yarn is 100% acrylic because it tends to stretch better. When you are making complicated crochet patterns and stitches, stretching is necessary. I also like the Super Saver yarns because they contain no dyes. I make very large afghan blankets often, which means they tend to be washed. Having an afghan made with yarn that contains no dyes means the color stays instead of bleeding out in the wash.

Another great thing about the Red Heart Super Saver yarns is that they are medium size yarns. This makes them very versatile when creating crochet or knitting projects. I have used them for everything from sweaters to bulky afghans. Overall, definitely one of the better yarn types and brands available.

Red Heart Yarn is my favorite on-hand yarn. I have several skeins in different colors to grab in case someone needs a quick handmade gift. One of the reasons this is my go-to yarn is the price. It is so much cheaper than other yarns and it is durable too. Read more

I absolutely love the Super saver yarn. I run a small crocheting business out of my home, and Red Heart Super saver is the only type of yarn I will use. It comes in so many colours, and one skein of it goest a long way. It gives me the most bang for my buck. Read more
