I got this little crossbow a couple of weeks ago. I didn't know what to expect for such an affordable price. I was afraid that I was going to be disappointed, that I was getting a kid's toy, instead of something that actually shoots. Boy, was I mistaken.
The DX-70 has a sturdy, well-crafted feel to it. The gun stock comes already assembled, except for the limb and string. Assembling the gun was a piece of cake. However, I did need help bending the limb in order to slip the string over the ends.
Once assembled, it was easy to operate. With one fluid motion, the gun is cocked and the safety is activated. Then you load a bolt, release the safety and pull the trigger. The trigger pull has a solid feel to it - not too soft, not too hard. With the 80 LB draw weight, the DX-70 shoots the bolt with a solid snap of the string.
The crossbow comes with 3 aluminum bolts. While not top of the line, they are fine for target shooting. The mini crossbow made easy work of shooting the bolt through the plastic tub I set up in the yard.
All-in-all, the DX-70 is a fun mini crossbow to play around with in the back yard. Just remember, this is not a toy for kids!
