I am so paranoid when it comes to using an electric alarm clock. The electricity often goes out where we live, and if that happens during the night I risk the chance of not waking up on time. That is why I choose to use battery powered alarm clocks. This compact little clock from Westclox packs a punch in a small package. The screen is nice and big, making it easy to see the numbers. Which is great, because without my glasses I'm as blind as a bat. By tapping the button on top, you get a soothing blue backlight which makes it much easier to see the numbers at any time of day or night. The alarm is ascending, meaning if you don't hit the snooze or turn it off right away then it will slowly get louder. Speaking of the snooze, that's a welcome option especially when morning comes a little too early. The clock doesn't eat up the batteries, either. I rarely have to change them, which is a big money saver. Even when the lightning storms are raging and our electricity goes out, I can count on this handy little clock to keep perfect time. It has been a lifesaver more than once.
