I love these pillows. They are expensive, but soft. Each pillow is two pillows in one with an inner pillow inside the outer pillow. It is quite comfortable; although I alternate using a newer one and an older one because the newer one is so soft, sometimes my head sinks down and the pillow covers part of my face. It is really the most comfortable when I am lying on my back.
I have allergies and so I don’t usually buy anything with real down in it, but the allergy free warranty states that dust, dirt and allergens have been removed, and I have never had a reaction when using these pillows.
Amazingly, the pillows are machine washable. I have had bad luck washing artificially filled pillows and have not, as yet, tried washing these down filled pillows. These pillows tend to be expensive so before I replace one, I will try washing it.
I don’t know that the thread count and having 100% Egyptian cotton is important because I don’t sleep on my pillows without a pillow cover and a pillow case. I find pillows last a lot longer with a pillow cover and a pillow case, both of which get machine washed each week. This protects the pillows from your hair oils, skin cells and dust mites. Pillow covers are cheap and it is worth it to extend the life of the pillow.
I have trouble sleeping and I get migraines so my pillow is important. Nevertheless, I am a packrat and am loath to throw anything away, especially if it is expensive, so I work to extend the life of my pillows. If you want to invest in an expensive pillow, invest in pillow covers as well and you will get many years of pleasure from your pillows.
