I love to breastfeed my baby as long as I can. However, my situation as a working mother prevents me from doing so. The hardest part when changing the feeding system from breastfeeding to bottle feeding (still with my milk!) is the adjustment of the baby in using the artificial nipple.
I could still clearly remember the trouble I had to endure when I had to go back to work. My baby was crying a lot because she would not feed on the bottle. I happened to mention this problem with my co-worker who was also bottle feeding her baby. She told me about the DrBrown’s Wide Neck Nipple and how it helped her baby to adjust quickly from breastfeeding to bottle feeding.
I am very thankful to my co-worker because for a span of two days the feeding problem with my baby was nowhere to be remembered. My baby became so comfortable feeding her own bottle. One thing I noticed is my baby seemed not to notice she is feeding on a bottle even after two days of breast feeding from me.
At first, I used the level 1 nipple. I was using this when my baby was one month old and as what I’ve mentioned, she was a very happy baby then. After sometime, I noticed that she started getting grumpy during feeding time. Later on, I realised that another type of nipple (with faster flow) was needed as the flow of the level one I had was far too slow for her needs. So I had to buy the next level nipple. As of the moment, she is still enjoying her artificial nipple that she seemed not to miss mine at all.
