I work for a busy bed and breakfast on the big island of Hawaii, we make smoothies every day, and also grind up fresh wheat berries for the homemade bread we bake each day. As such, I use the blender each and every day, sometimes multiple times for various recipes and baking needs. Needless to say, we're pretty rough on blenders with our daily use and constant cleaning. Honestly, we've been through three blenders in nearly a year's time.
Sure, we should probably invest in a Vitamix or a Blendtech at this point, but we're still holding out for a reliable, sturdy blender that can stand up to regular use, but come in for under a hundred bucks. I've never had a problem with Oster blenders, in fact I was surprised the motor burned out on the last Oster blender we purchased. But we recently replaced that busted one with this Oster Die-Cast 10 Speed Blender and I'm really quite happy with the purchase. The glass jar is sturdy and large, but what I like most is how quiet this blender is. That's a super bonus when it comes to blending smoothies at 7 am before the guests wake up for breakfast, no matter how delicious the breakfast a loud blender is a rude awakening.
