Pros: easy to use, folds for storage, prevents water back up
Cons: pricey

It took me a long time to part with the price for this colander but after trying to drain a large pot of spaghetti and water backing up into my colander, I broke down and purchased it.

I have experienced water backing up from the sink into a colander many times and it is disgusting. I looked at many colanders and finally found this OXO colander that unfolds to rest over the sink. The legs spring out easily and don't mar the sink or counter. With the colander resting on the sink, I can pour large amounts of cooked pasta and water into the colander with no worries about the water backing up into the colander.

The design is eye catching in stainless steel and the colander handles are comfortable and easy to grip. The legs fold for easy storage. This has become one of my favorite kitchen utensils and something I use on a regular basis.

The five-quart capacity is perfect for large pots of pasta, potatoes, or whatever needs draining. I also use it for rinsing and draining vegetables and fruits.

If this colander were more reasonably priced, I would give it five stars. However, I have to say that even as expensive as it is, it has been worth every penny to me. I would buy it again.
