I have been using the Revlon Colorstay foundation for as long as I can remember and it is my go to foundation, although I have to admit that I have been loving Korean BB Creams as well. Anyway, I felt that it was time to switch up again and I wanted to try out a new foundation again. Since I received vouchers for Estee Lauder, I was considering to buy the Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation. I have read so many amazing reviews about this particular foundation and it has a huge shade range, so I was sure that I would be able to find something.

Since Estee Lauder is a high-end brand the foundation is quite expensive and will set you back by £30, so I wanted to make sure that the shade I was getting was the right one and I asked for samples, because I couldn’t quite decide between two shades. I know that you can get one of the Estee Lauder Makeup consultants to apply the foundation on your face right there and then, but to be honest I prefer to apply it on myself at home with my makeup brushes, just so that I can get a feel for it and see how it works when I do it.

It was a bit of a struggle for me, because apparently you are only allowed one sample and the lady who was working there almost treated me like a criminal when I asked if I could have two samples. She told me to write down my name and address and then it turned out that she didn’t have the right shades available anyway, so I went to another department store that had Estee Lauder and fortunately the sales assistant was a lot nicer there and I finally managed to receive some samples. The lady was kind enough and gave me three samples, which I have swatched for this review.

At the beginning, I wasn’t sure if this foundation was really worth the money. I felt that the finish was very similar to the Revlon Colorstay. The Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation has medium to full coverage and gives you a semi matte finish, which is great if you have oily skin. I have combination skin with really dry and moderately oily areas on my face and this foundation actually does a great job by not drying out my skin and at the same time it manages to control my oily areas. In my opinion this product will look better on your skin after a while, once it settles into your skin. I’m not sure if that’s the right way to describe it. Anyway, it will last the whole day even without the use of a primer or setting spray and it doesn’t smudge or dry out your skin. It has even better staying power than the Revlon Colorstay.

Overall, if you have some money for a really good foundation then you should invest your money in the Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation. It’s a great foundation and it’s definitely worth the money. It’s a big thumbs up from me.
