Pros: brightens eye area, doesn't crease, easy to apply, great for dry skin, long-lasting, price

I have been seeing my favourite beauty blogger and Youtubers using and raving about this concealer and at first I was sceptical whether or not it would be worth buying a drugstore concealer and I have had my fair share of drugstore concealers, some were good and others were a complete miss. Anyway, I decided to go to Boots to buy a few concealers that have been getting amazing reviews lately and I ended up buying three concealers. I got the Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer, the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer and the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer.

I have been using and testing all three concealers for the past few weeks and they are all really good drugstore concealers that can easily compete with high-end products like the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer. I am definitely going to write a review about the other two concealers, but out of the ones that I bought from Boots I think the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer is my favourite. Also just a quick note about the name, I think in the US it’s called the Instant Age Rewind Concealer whereas in the UK it’s called the Instant Anti-Age Eraser.

Unlike most concealer, which have an application wand, the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind actually has a sponge tip and you twist the top until the product comes out. I have mixed feelings about the packaging, while the sponge tip seems to distribute the concealer more evenly, I find it a little unhygienic and also putting back the cap on the concealer can be a bit messy, because you end up smudging it and you have concealer everywhere on the cap. Other than that I don’t have much to complain about when it comes to this product. The concealer itself comes in only two different shades: Light and Nude. I ended up getting the Light Shade and it turned out to be perfect.

Now, the concealer itself gives a medium coverage, which I’m sure you can build up, but fortunately my dark circles aren’t too bad so a light coverage is really all I need. I like to use this concealer specifically for my under eye area, because I have dry skin and concealers usually tend to be a little drying and unforgiving. I have had problems in the past with concealers drying out my skin or emphasising and accentuating fine lines, which is not a good look. To my surprise this concealer is amazing. It not only conceals, but also keeps your under eye area moisturised throughout the day. It will also last you the whole day without creasing or smudging. The best way to blend this product in my opinion is with the BeautyBlender or a sponge similar to that.

Overall, I love this concealer! If you have dry or mature skin, I think you should give this product a try! It is on the more expensive side for a drugstore concealer, I paid about £8 for it, whereas usually concealers in Boots are around £4-£5, but it’s worth the money and you will get a lot of use out of it. I cannot recommend this product highly enough!!!
